HARMAN PHOTO SUPPORTS JEFF HIRSCH EXHIBITION
Pioneering inkjet brand of HARMAN technology supplies paper to prestigious New York photography event

As Sex and the City undergoes its worldwide movie premiere, HARMAN PHOTO has revealed its involvement in an event which would make the characters of the hit TV show proud. The globally respected inkjet brand of HARMAN technology Limited recently supplied its HARMAN PHOTO GLOSS FB Al paper to an exhibition by Jeff Hirsch, who, for the last 8 years, has been taking shots of New York for acclaimed society website New York Social Diary (www.newyorksocialdiary.com).

Jeff is a co-founder of the site and everyday takes new pictures for use on its pages. Thirty-nine of these images featured in the exhibition, which ran from May 15th to May 19th 2008 at The Chinese Porcelain Company on New York’s Park Avenue and 58th Street. Throughout the event, prints of the exhibits were also on sale, with all proceeds going to the Women’s Committee of the Central Park Conservancy.

To ensure the exhibits looked as impressive as possible, Jeff chose to work with New York based Gotham Imaging – a digital fine art pigment print studio, specializing in large format, museum quality printing. A firm of Master Printers with over 25 years’ experience, Gotham has a long track record of meeting the needs of world-renowned photographers. For jobs of this nature, it always uses HARMAN PHOTO GLOSS FB Al.

Peter Berberian from the company explains: “We’re big fans of the HARMAN PHOTO GLOSS paper and use it whenever customers demand prints of truly exceptional quality. Its performance in terms of image detail and definition, tonal range and vibrancy is amazing. It blows everything else out of the water.”

Jeff Hirsch himself was equally complimentary: “The exhibition at The Chinese Porcelain Company was a big event for me and I was particularly delighted with the quality of the finished prints. I’ve encountered many digital papers in my time but the HARMAN PHOTO GLOSS product is by far one of the best I’ve ever seen.”

Meanwhile, Steven Brierley, HARMAN’s Sales Director for North America and Canada added: “We are delighted to have played a part in this exhibition. Jeff has a real eye and his shots are exceptional. We are glad the HARMAN PHOTO GLOSS FB Al paper was able to do them full justice.”

NOTES TO EDITORS –

HARMAN technology Limited is a pioneering imaging specialist based in Mobberley, Cheshire. The company - which was born of the ILFORD formed by Alfred Harman in 1879 - now includes three, separate and well known brands: ILFORD PHOTO which manufactures traditional monochrome photographic products; HARMAN PHOTO which produces a range of high-end inkjet media for both colour and monochrome prints; and KENTMERE PHOTOGRAPHIC which produces a range of photography and inkjet papers, including Opaljet.

The ILFORD range of inkjet products, including ‘ILFORD Galerie’, is not associated with HARMAN technology in any way, and is actually manufactured and marketed by a separate organisation based in Switzerland.
